| Marriage | Abt 1653 | Ticehurst, Sussex, England, Great Britain - Zabulon NOAKES | | | |
| Note (fam) | Abt 1653 | married during the disruptive Civil War according to historian Martin Noakes. Records were either lost or not kept, or they married far from home, or didn't officially marry at all. During this period the formerly unified, or oppressive state church was thrown off & many sects arose. Depending upon who kept the registers, the marriage may not have ever been recorded, or the couple may have taken advantage of the lack of control to live outside official wedlock. This may have been involuntary if they belonged to the wrong sect or political faction as they may have been refused an official marriage in the church as a result. Their later poverty may speak of Zabulon being the last child of a large family or of their being on the wrong side at the end of the Civil War - Zabulon NOAKES | | | |
