William Howard Bigelow
(21 Dec 1829 - 22 Aug 1882)
Russell Bigelow was a graduate of Williams College, 1852; a civil engineer, lumber merchant and manufacturer. The Bigelows lived a few years in Sioux City, Iowa, then they removed to Chicago, where he was in the lumber business. In 1874, the moved to the old Hayes homestead in W. Brattleboro. He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church.
