Kushner: Variations of last name is Quickel, Quickly, Quickle, Quiggle, and Quigley. According to research by DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) there is reason to believe that the early spelling of the name was "Quaglia" from the Alps area of southern Germany.

Pat Quickel says the following: "My great-grandfather was Harrison Sively Quickel. His father was William Harrison. I have looked for the Allegheny Co. Quickel's and found the last name Yuickel. The first names and dates all matched."

Janet Quiggle Harman refers to Hans and Margarett: "I'm not at all comfortable about naming them as progenitors -- not proven -- could be brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, sister, aunt, etc. During 30 years war and much chaos, the plague, etc. People on the move." (In Ruth Erickson research)
