Individual Details

Sara Herchelroth ARNOLD

(12 October 1815 - 7 June 1867)

SARA was born and raised in Manheim, Lancaster County. When she was baptized 14 Jan 1816 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim, her name was listed on the church record as Salome. Her mother died when she was 12 years old.
Apparently she became a Mennonite when she was married, because her death notice appears in the July 1867 edition of the "HERALD OF TRUTH", a Mennonite Church publication. "On the 7th of June, 1867, near Campbellstown, Lebanon Co., Pa., wife of JOHN EBERSOLE, aged 51 years, 7 months, and 25 days. Sermons were preached by John Strickler & Dohner -- - She was a member of the Mennonite Church. She bore her bodily afflictions with great patience, and repeatedly remarked that she was waiting for the coming of the Master, Prepared and willing to depart. Her departure seems to be a great loss ot her friends. They mourn their loss " (Note: Her name was not mentioned -just her husband's!)
