John Oakes

Found on "Find A Grave"John and Elizabeth's son sailed to America in the late 1660's and landed in Virginia. He acquired land as a "head right" to the King and was a tobacco planter on the York River. He appears to have been the original immigrant to America from this line of the Oakes/Oaks family.
