Thomas A. Baldwin
(22 Sep 1783 - 19 Feb 1854)
RESIDENCE: Was in the Butler County, Ohio tax lists as early as 1807; to Stonelick Twp., Clermont County, Ohio as early as 16 Oct 1815; He purchased land on Stonelick Fork, a branch of the East Fork of the Little Miami River in Stonelick Twp., Clermont County, Ohio on 29 April 1816; Montgomery County, Indiana by 1835; then moved around 1845 to Carroll county, Indiana.
Military: Thomas Baldwin served in Capt. Samuel McCormick's Company, probably from Hamilton County, Ohio in War of 1812.
His detachment of thirteen men under the command of Lt. Carlisle Harrison was attacked on 16 July 1814 at the mouth of Sturgeon Creek in southern Ontario, Nine of the men were killed and the other four including Thomas were injured. Thomas was furloughed on 1 Sep 1814 and remained disabled for the rest of his life.
