Death

Lavon B. Furr, 78, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at her residence in Pricedale, MS. She was born on April 14, 1937 in Leakesville, MS. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit and will continue on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 10:00 AM at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit, MS. Burial will follow in Pike Memorial Gardens in McComb, MS with Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She loved gardening, flowers, to travel and to go fishing. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale, MS. She loved to sing and play piano. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chilton Neil Furr, Sr.; parents, E. A. and Sarah Griffin Ball; sister, Nanette Ball; brothers, Nathan Ball, Warren Ball, and Terry Ball. She is survived by sons, Albert Furr (Lisa) of McComb, MS, Neil Furr (Carol) Pricedale, MS, and Chilton "Chip" Furr, Jr. of Pricedale, MS; daughter, Alice Ann Furr Ingram of Lexington, SC; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Lamelle Ball and Clayford Ball; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Steven Furr, Mitchell Furr, Michael Falcone, Joseph Ethridge, and Kerry Hebert.
