Death
BARTH - Services are 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Community Baptist Church in Barth for Hollis Smith, 94, of the Barth Community, who died Sept. 16, 2009, at his home. Burial is in Barth Cemetery. Mr. Smith was a retired welder in the shipbuilding industry, a World War II Army veteran, member of Sherrard Byrd Masonic Lodge # 353, and member of Derby Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Furr Smith, a son, Dickie Smith and his parents, Florin Smith and Catherine Harriel-Smith. Survivors include a son, Wilton Earl Armstrong of Richton; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation is 6-10 p.m. Saturday at the church. White Funeral Home of Poplarville is handling arrangements.Endnotes
