Death
Amalita P. Furr, 88, of Raymond Road, a nurse's aide, died Thursday of heart failure at Methodist Medical Center. Services are 1 p.m. today at Lakewood Funeral Home with burial in Roseville Cemetery at 3 p.m. in Brookhaven. Lakewood Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. Furr was a native of Guatemala and a former Clinton resident. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Joymakers Choir. She volunteers for the Crestwood Mission in Jackson and at the Four C's, also known as the Clinton Community Christian Center. She was a nurse's aide at King's Daughters Hospital and Silver Cross Nursing Home in Brookhaven. Survivors include: son, George Lamar Furr of Brandon; daughter, Vicolita Furr Derrick of Clinton; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Clinton or to the Baptist Children's Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton MS 39060.Clarion-Ledger, Jackson, Mississippi, April 11, 1997
