Death

Zeb Vance Smith, 81, of Norwood, passed away, early Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Union Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Jeremy Blake will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Smith was born August 4, 1933 in Stanly County to the late Floyd Lee Smith and Lillie Mae Furr Smith. He was last employed by Stanly Fixtures and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil and Doyle Smith. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Taylor Smith of the home; daughter, Wendy Smith Cauble and husband, Jeff of Albemarle and son, Jimmy Smith of Norwood; grandchildren, Brian Cauble, Michael Cauble and wife, Lesley, Linda Mays and Daniel Smith; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Lane and Seth Mays and Destiney Sasser; sister, Annie Jane Simpson.
