Andrew C. Koning Sr., Age 78, of Lockport passed away on November 7, 2025. Born in the Netherlands, moved to the United States at nine years old, raised in Chicago, lived in Oak Lawn, and was a resident of Homer Township / Lockport since 1974. Dedicated Partner of Supreme Decorators with Carl Steen, and the owner of five Quick Wash Laundry Mats in Lockport and surrounding areas, retiring in 2009. He found great joy in building and driving stockcars, spending time outdoors, cutting grass, planting trees and flowers and at any time you could see him walking 3 to 4 miles around Lockport with a cup of coffee. Above all else he cherished spending time with family. He loved to travel; some of his happiest times were on numerous cruises, especially along the East coast, and cross-country road trips he took with his family. These adventures brought him immense joy and provided countless memories that his family will forever hold close. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Harriet (nee Venema) Koning; one brother, Henry Koning; and his in laws, John and Jeanne Heelan. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan (nee Heelan) Koning; two devoted children, Ann Marie (James Frattini) Furr, and Andy Jr. (Carol Pilon) Koning; adored grandchildren, Cheyanne, Skyelar, Sydney Furr, Andy Koning, Nic, Sam, Jon Frattini; two sisters, Anjean (late Klaas) Hoogstraten and Jackie (Tom) Sharkey; two sisters-in-law, Linda (late Wally) Pote and Kathleen Lukosius; brother-in-law, John (Peggy) Heelan and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Paralyzed Veterans of America/Vaughn Chapter or Lightways Hospice in Andrews name would be greatly appreciated.
