Death

Wayne E. Jarrell age 81, a longtime resident of Saraland, Alabama died on May 12, 2024. Wayne was born in Boge, Florida and grew up in Prichard, Alabama where he met his childhood sweetheart Dorothy. He moved to Chicago, Illinois and she of course followed. They married and had two children, Wesley and Doris. He worked as a welder for several years and then moved to Saraland, Alabama where he spent his remaining years working as a Monumental Mason, a profession he put his heart into. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Jarrell; his sister, Elizabeth Jarrell and his brothers, Waldon Paul Jarrell and John Jarrell. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years who were married on February 13, 1965, Dorothy Dearing Jarrell; his daughter, Doris Jarrell Furr, son-in-law, Judd Furr; grandson, Joshua Thomas Howard; great grandson, Tatum Howard; brothers, Jerry Jarrell and Howard Jarrell and a close friend, Justin Richardson. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Radney Funeral Home – Mobile on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Bayou LaBatre, Alabama.
