Death

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, January 30, 2011, Mrs. Sybil Newton Futrelle, 83, wife of the late Frank J. Futrelle. Mrs. Futrelle was a native of Hiltonia, GA. but lived in Augusta most of her life. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Mrs. Futrelle was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Family members include daughters: Kathy Renner (Bill) and Nancy Fletcher (David); son: Jeff Futrelle (Lisa); grandchildren: Meredith Dykes (Brent), Brandon Furr (Emily), Whitney Walker (Blake), Taylor Fletcher (Brittany), Erik Fletcher (Beth), Franklin Futrelle (Jessica), Elizabeth Futrelle and 6 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the employees and staff of Brookdale Place for their love and care. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Brandon Furr officiating. Burial followed in Westover Memorial Park.
