Young DAVIS

Young Davis, b. Feb 18, 1808, S.C., d. Aug. 18, 1896, Habersham Co., Ga., son of Harvey Davis and Sara Barton Davis, who lived on the South Carolina side of the Tugaloo River across from the Prather Place. Young Davis was a Major in the Confederate Army. He moved his family to the Currahee community in Feburary 1869. He owned a large plantation, containing over 6,000 acres, which included Currahee Mountain. Major Davis's wife was named Nancy, b. Oct 24, 1824, d. Sept 27, 1889. They were the parents of fourteen children.
