CONCORD - Crystal Marie Rushing-Simpson died at NorthEast Medical Center on Sat., Sept. 9, 2006, after a long battle with cystic fibrosis. She was 23. Funeral services will be Tues., Sept. 12 at 2 p.m., at the Hartsell Funeral Home chapel in Concord, with burial to follow at West Concord Cemetery. The Rev. Edward "Buster" Pigg will officiate. Visitation will be at Hartsell Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. The family will meet at the home of Kathy Morgan, 256 Shelterwood Ct., Concord. Crystal graduated from Concord High School in 2001 and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Bryan Simpson of Concord; parents Randy and Angela Furr Storms of Matthews; stepfather, Rick Honeycutt, Sr. of Concord; stepmother, Vicky Honeycutt of Concord; two brothers, Ricky Honeycutt, Jr. of Concord and Jason Burris of Kannapolis; grandparents, Ella Ruth and Henry Smith, Brenda and Snuffy Smith, Judy Lowder, Libby and Boyce Simpson and Harold and Gail Rushing, all of Concord and Billy and Judy Furr of Kannapolis; aunt and uncle, Tracie Furr and Larry Hartsell of Midland; two uncles, Brent Furr and Kenneth Rushing of Concord; and two cousins, Amity Furr of Concord and Dawson Hartsell of Midland. The family would like to thank Hospice of Lake Norman, the special care unit at NorthEast Medical Center and Duke University Medical Center. Memorials may be made to the organization of one's choice.
