Death

Marjorie Anne McLaurin, 87, went to her heavenly home Saturday, December 10, 2022. She was a resident at Trinity Place in Albemarle. Marjorie Anne Carnes McLaurin was born October 30, 1935, in Chesterfield County, SC to the late Sam B. Carnes and Evelyn Anderson Carnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Murray Dan McLaurin; first husband, Horace Zane Love; brother, Buddy Carnes; sisters, Doris Williams and Terry Wallace; and great-granddaughter, Avery Burris. Marjorie was a faithful, sweet, and hardworking woman. She worked at various sewing mills and also cleaned churches. She was a caregiver to many friends throughout her life. She loved everyone and was always telling them "I love you" and with a great big hug. Marjorie loved sending cards and dearly loved her family. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Friday, December 16, 2022, at Euto Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm officiated by Rev. Bruce League. Burial will follow at the Euto Baptist Church Cemetery at 6019 Hwy. 205, Marshville, NC. Survivors include son, Dennis (Marlene) Love; daughter, Phyllis (Curtis) Furr; grandsons, Chris (Kara) Furr, Matthew (Katy) Love, Jason (Leslie) Furr; granddaughters, Meredith (Tyler) Burris, Caroline (Jordan) Williams; great-grandchildren: Noah, Rebekah, Jackson, Abigail, and Andrew Love, Sarah Burris, Afton, Layton, Colton and Myles Furr; brothers, Johnny (Joyce) Carnes, Ralph (Nancy) Carnes; sister, Martha Wallace; sister-in-law, Janice Carnes; and numerous nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials may be made to a charity of your choosing. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Trinity Place in Albemarle for the wonderful care Marjorie received. Thanks to everyone who has sent her a card, the phone calls and visits to help our dear mother throughout this season of her life. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the McLaurin family.
