Death

Michael William Jones, 41, of Fayetteville, passed away on August 16, 2021, in Fayetteville. He was born October 2, 1979, in Riverside, California, to William Payne and Ronna Anderson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Delmar "Bapa" Murray and Joanne Arent and brother, Jonathan Anderson. Michael served in the U.S. Army in Germany as an LPN. He furthered his education upon returning and received his masters in teaching. Michael worked for the V.A. in the HUD VASH Program for many years. He is survived by his father, William Payne; his mother, Ronna Anderson; brothers, Christopher Jones and Ryan Payne; sisters, Amanda Landis and Kelly Lehner; sons, Alister and Tristan Jones; daughter, Lillian Jones; and many nieces and nephews. Michael was a light for anyone that needed it in any dark moment. Michael dedicated to helping others at all times. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2021, at Beard's Chapel. Inurnment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors.
