Death

Nellie Love Drye, 94, of Oakboro, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, February 5, 2022. Nellie was born December 15, 1927 in Cabarrus County to the late Fred Lee Love and the late Dallie Love. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lamont Drye. Nellie was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a longtime member of St. Stephens Wesleyan Church for over 70 years. Nellie loved and cherished her family. She enjoyed her flower garden and to bird watch. Nellie received excellent care by her caregiver Heather Huneycutt and Angie Wright. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm officiated by Pastor Randy Tucker. Burial will be at the church cemetery 7601 Brush Arbor Rd., Concord. Survivors include daughters, Faye (Jack) Green, Louise (Tom) McClester, Shirley (William) Stokes, Linda (Steve) Mosteller, Janet Wright; grandchildren, Monty Green, Jeanne Furr, Michael Furr, Tommy Jr.,Tina Pender, Chip Stokes, Carolyn Healey, Marie Stokes, Crystal Mitchell, Kevin Lambert, Angie Wright, and Brandon Wright; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, James Love; and sister, Beatrice Blackwelder. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Drye family.
