"This information is from a biography that Grace's granddaughter, Ruth Ann wrote and gave to everyone at Grace's 100th birthday party. I lived by Grace when I was a little girl. Grace was in her late 50's then. She found out that my mom's birthday was on the same day as hers. They sent birthday cards to each other until she died in 1998. Grace was a very kind person. She loved God and life. She attended Lindsey Methodist church all her life. She lived alone until she was in her nineties. She fell and broke her hip.
Grace was the only child of Lavina Dell Canterbury and John Duley. She met Ellis Stewart at a church picnic, she was 18 and he was 32. They married three years later on February 10, 1917. Ellis died in 1957 of a heart attack.
