Death

DEATH OF MRS. MARTHA FURR MOORE

The Death Angel entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Selman last Friday morning and removed therefrom the sweet spirit of a sainted "mother in Israel" - Mrs. Martha Furr Moore - who had been an invalid for more than three years at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Selman, in Monticello. She had reached a ripe old age - 98- and had long been waiting patiently for the end to come. Her beloved companion preceeded her to the grave many years ago, since which time she had lived with her children, but mostly with her only daughter, Mrs. Selman. Three sons surviving are: Mr. Chas. Moore of Fair River, Lincoln county; Mr. J. B. Moore of Oma, this county, and Mr. Jeff Moore of Louisiana. Mr. W. E. Selman of this place is a grandson of deceased. The funeral occurred last Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at Gallilee church near Rockport, in the vicinity of Mrs. Moore's old home, many from this place besides the relatives attending. Deep sympathy goes out to the sorrowing ones, but whose saddened hearts should have joy in the knowledge that this sainted character was spared to them so many years and that her life was an inspiration and a benediction unto them for all that was noble and pure.
