Death

Vera Hatley Hopkins, 90, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Vera was born May 13, 1931 in Stanly County to the late Hardy Green Hatley and Minnie Furr Hatley. She was also preceded in death by brothers, George Junior Hatley and Elbert Lee Hatley, as well as grandson, Justin Matthew Archer. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2021 at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Boyd Joyce. Survivors include, loving husband of 67 years, Dewey Dillon Hopkins of Albemarle; daughters, Wanda (Danny) Griffin and Melissa H. Archer; grandchildren, Megan Archer, Baylee Saddler, Caleb Griffin and Emily Griffin. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Hopkins family.
