Death

Lovenia Lisk Burleson, 77, of Albemarle, surrounded by her loving family passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 25, 2021 at her home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Albemarle.  Rev. Ron Hartman, Rev. Ron Drye and Rev. Monty Clark will officiate.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening, May 27, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.  Lovenia was born December 2, 1943 in Stanly County to the late William and Virginia Blalock Lisk.  She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and a retiree of First Citizens Bank.  Lovenia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She enjoyed spending time with her family at the beach and working in her flower garden. “Ven” as she was affectionately known, took great pride in her appearance.  She never went out without being dressed in beautiful clothes and jewelry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Lisk Beck. She is survived by her husband, Keith D. Burleson of the home; daughter, Gina Burleson Furr and husband, Ricky of Albemarle; grandsons, Travis Furr (Jensen Schott), Logan Furr ( Rachel Nance) and Ricky Furr, Jr. (Rebecca); one great-grandchild, Zoe Furr; sisters, Sue Lisk Howell (Kenneth) of Norwood, Joann Lisk Whitley of Albemarle, Elaine Lisk of Norwood and Irene Lisk Huneycutt (Tim) of Norwood; brother, Bernie Lisk ( Charleen) of Norwood; 58 nieces and nephews.
