Death

Michael Leitao, 77, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at his home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines. Entombment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Leitao was born in Portugal Jan. 27, 1936. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Clark Leitao; and a grandchild, Michael Joseph Leitao. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by a daughter, Linda L. Moneymaker and husband, Philip, of Southern Pines; a son, Michael Stewart Leitao and wife, Gwen, of Supply; brothers, Silvio Ferreira and Manuel Leitao, both of Portugal; sisters, Teresa Weinstein and Ruth Teixeira, both of Portugal, grandchildren, Keith and fiancee Darla, Clint, Shana, and Chris; great-grandchildren, Issac, Daisy, Tristan and Jaydin. Boles Funeral Home will be assisting the family.
