Death

Rita Calhoun Jones, age 62, a resident of Brantley, died Monday, October 12, 2020, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 2 pm from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Louis Johnson and Rev. Justin Bradley officiating. Graveside services will be in conjunction with her sister, Rebecca Barr's graveside, on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 3:15 pm at Ebenezer Cemetery in Troy, AL with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020, from 5 pm until 7 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Freda Furr (Chris); grandchildren: Sarah Garrett (Adam), Asa Furr (Keri), Landon Mills; great-grandchild: Sarah Grace Furr; siblings: Thomas Calhoun (Diane), Danny Calhoun (Wendy), Sandra Gibson (Clyde); special friend: Dave Sims; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family. She is preceded in death by her husband: James Randolph "Randy" Jones; great-grandchild: Dutch Randolph Garrett; parents: Charles and Sarah Calhoun; brother: Emmett Norris Calhoun; and sister: Rebecca Calhoun Barr. Mrs. Rita had a big heart and was a caring person.
