Death
Mrs. Florence Lee Tucker Gilliam, widow of G. W. Gilliam, died at 1:10 p.m. yesterday at the home of her niece, Mrs. Ida Byrne, 4561 Poplar. She was 86. Mrs. Gilliam had been a Memphian for 25 years. She was born in West Point, Miss., and lived for a time in Memphis as a child. She later moved to Jackson, Tenn., and returned to Memphis about 1926. She was a member of Mullins Methodist Church, She leaves a son, C. W. Gilliam of Birmingham, and a brother, J. E. Tucker of Memphis. Services at 11 a.m. tomorrow at J. W. Norris Funeral Home, Rev. J. E. Wilford officiating, Burial in Elmwood.The Memphis Press-Scimitar, Memphis, Tennessee, February 23, 1951
