Death
Mrs. Hettie B. Godwin, 96, of Dunn died Tuesday morning at her residence. She was the daughter of the late James B. and Minnie J. Barefoot. Her husband, Oliver W. Godwin, Sr. preceded her in death. Rev. King White will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 2 p.m. at Skinner Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. She is survived by three sons, O.W. ""Bill"" Godwin, Jr. of Dunn, Derwood H. Godwin of Fayetteville, Larry W. Godwin of Dunn; three daughters, Jean Lazenby of Durham, Linda Furr of Asheville, Margaret Caviness of Fayetteville; one brother, Landen Barefoot of Dunn; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Skinner Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bill Godwin, 1505 Lakeshore Dr., Dunn.
