Death

Rodney Jason Hathcock, 38, of Albemarle passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Albemarle Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service. Jason was born March 19, 1978 in Stanly County to Sheila Blalock Smith and Rodney Stephen Furr. He worked for James Poole Construction. Jason enjoyed hunting, fishing, and pulling for his favorite team the North Carolina Tar Heels. He also loved his dog Moose. Jason is survived by his father Rodney Stephen Furr and wife Susie of Richfield, NC; his mom Sheila Blalock Smith of Albemarle ; brothers Hank Smith of New London and Josh Furr of Richfield; and sisters Mackenzie Smith of New London and Kati Furr of Richfield; and Grandmother Imogene Furr. Other survivors include his Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Jason is preceded in death by his daughter Haley Braley and his brother Chris Hathcock.
