Death
Mrs. Frances Williams Davis, 93 passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at Atrium Hospice House in Monroe. Born February 18, 1932, in Anson County, NC she was the daughter of the late Ray Sanford Williams and Bessie Hasty Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coit Davis, sons, Terry Davis and Wayne Davis, siblings, James Williams, Mary Williams, Ray Williams Jr., Harold Williams, Everette Williams, and Elizabeth Williams Treadaway. Frances loved spending time with her family and caring for others in the community. She was the longest active member of Peachland United Methodist Church. She served as record keeper, treasurer and pianist for many years. She was a good cook, known for her chicken and dumplings, candied yams, and many desserts which was always a favorite of the grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Frances will be 3 PM Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Peachland United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Peachland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-2:45 at the church. Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Larry Cecil Davis (Sharon), Jeffrey Alan Davis (Lisa); daughter, Karla Ranette Davis (Melvin Furr); 14 grandchildren: Anita Chris, Jennifer Rose, Brent Davis, Darby Davis, Jamie Davis, Melissa Davis, Emily Marsh, Clint Davis, Kyle Davis, Justin Davis, Brittany Coley, Brandie Johnson, Kayla Davis and LeAnna Davis and 21 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
