Death

Carolyn Furr Goldston "Carol" MATTHEWS - Ms. Goldston, 77, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 6, 2015, with her daughter by her side. She was the daughter of the late Jacob E. Furr Sr. and Annie Ballard Furr. She is preceded in death by her siblings; Berniece Furr, Jewel Furr Isenhour, Betty Furr Davis, Jacob E. Furr Jr. Carol retired from Ford Motor Consumer Loan and worked part-time at SteinMart. Throughout her journey, Carol was grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers from her good friends Glenda Naypauer, LuAnn Hall, Jan Law, and Pat and Phil Lang, as well as the Elizabeth Patrick Sunday School Class. She especially enjoyed her card group ladies. She is survived by her children, Lisa Cash Cook (Jim), Keith Cash (Annette), John Cash, and David Cash (Lynn), Michelle Goldston Roberts (Kevin); nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Robert E. Furr and Phyllis Furr Yoder. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, June 24 at Matthews UMC at 3PM. The family will begin to receive friends at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, Roberta UMC building fund or Matthews UMC. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel.
