Joyce Burris, 69, of Albemarle passed away Monday November 24, 2014 at the Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis. Her funeral will be 2 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clinton Efird officiating. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation, however the body will lie in state at Stanly Funeral Home during business hours on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning prior to the funeral service. Born October 12, 1945 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late John Ellis Burris and Elmira Abigail Furr Burris. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Burris is survived by a brother Ronald C. Burris and wife Diann of Albemarle, two nieces Angela B. Mauney and Jennifer B. Smith of Albemarle, and 1 great-niece and 4 great-nephews. The family requests that memorials be made to the Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
