Death

Grace Horton Litaker Mrs. Litaker, 78, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 at Waccama Hospital, Murrells Inlet, SC. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2007 at McEwen - Mint Hill Chapel with Reverend Joe Mullis officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Litaker was born March 23, 1929 in Angela, SC, a daughter of the late Dorch and Bessie Irene Horton. In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Jesse L. Litaker, preceded her in death. Mrs. Litaker was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and retired from the Charlotte - Mecklenburg School system. She will be remembered as a strong and witty woman who loved her family dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Litaker is survived by her children, Stephen Litaker and his wife, Brenda, of Garden City, SC, Tanya Furr and her husband, Patrick, of Charlotte and Jan Jordan and her husband, Dale, of Charlotte; sisters, Alice Jordan and Millie Allison, both of Charlotte; grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Carman Litaker, John Ritch, Eddie Baker, Carol Bradley, Brandon Ritch, Cortney Furr, Scott Furr, and Misty Causey; and eleven great grandchildren.
