Death

Joe Frank Holt, 91 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle. Joe was born December 16, 1922 in Stanly County to the late Jason David Holt and the late Athie Furr Holt. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years in 2006, Josephine Bowers Holt.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Delane Burris, will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 13, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church in Albemarle. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC. He is survived by son, Jerry Holt Sr. and wife, Carolyn of Albemarle; daughters, JoAnn Rabon and husband, Max, and Karen Calloway and husband, Eddie of Albemarle; grandchildren, Max Rabon, Jr., Pamela Rabon-Byrd, Jerry Holt, Jr., Summer Miller, Sally Calloway, Jason Calloway; and eleven great grandchildren, Michael Rabon; McKenzie, Connor, Cassidy, and Chloe Byrd; Jaxon and Amelia Holt; Jet and Charleigh Jo Miller; and Lawson and Briley Eudy. Joe was owner and operator of Holt Contract Hauling of Albemarle for over 50 years. The family wishes to thank the caregivers, Patsy Yarbrough, Shirley Fesperman, Sheila Morton, and Charlene Worthington.
