Death

ROCKWELL - Peggy Joyce Foster Gainey, 75, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Gainey was born March 11, 1939, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late John Harrison Foster and Margaret Miles Foster. She retired from Cannon Mills, Plant 1, as a towel inspector. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Peggy loved and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the beach, fishing and working in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, J. Douglas Furr; and lifetime companion, C. David Miles. Mrs. Gainey is survived by her six children, Earl Furr and wife Robin of Mt. Pleasant, Edward Gainey of Rockwell, Joyce Graves and husband Delano of Linwood, Susan Shue and husband Wayne of New London, Bonnie Lovins and husband Jeff of Concord and Deloris Lambert of Albemarle; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Service: A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim McQueen will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at Lady's Funeral Home. Lady's Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family of Mrs. Gainey.
