Death
Diana Lynn Akins Furr, 56, of Biloxi was called to heaven by the dear Lord on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in D'Iberville. Ms. Furr was born on Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, but has been a resident of South Mississippi most of her life. She was a life member of the VFW Post 6731 Women's Auxiliary, and a graduate of St. Martin High School. Diana enjoyed drawing, listening to Alabama, and spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Furr was a dedicated employee of Gulf Coast States Air Gas for many years where she worked in accounts receivable. Ms. Furr is preceded in death by her grandparents L.R. and Ester Akins and Don Virginia Kaysinger all of the St. Louis, MO area. Her survivors include her father and mother: Larry and Billie Jo Akins of St. Martin, three daughters: Amanda Kay Duncan (Dustin) of Gautier, Kerri Jo King-Moser (Nathan) of Gulfport, and Cecilia "C.C." Hall (Chester) of Saucier, one nephew who was like a son: Michael Anthony Anselmo of Wiggins, four grandsons and one granddaughter: Austin and Alex King, Dustin Duncan, Chester Joseph Hall, Jr. "C.J." and Sylvia Roselynn Hall "Sibbie", three sisters and one brother: Larry Akins of West Plains, MO, Debbie Rice of Biloxi, Pamela (Charles) Akins of Latimer, and Cynthia (Michael) Ferguson of Vancleave, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be dearly missed by all. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral home on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will be a private spreading of her ashes at a later date.The Sun Herald, Biloxi, Mississippi, February 27, 2013
