FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Robert Allen "Bob" Dalton, 65, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Dalton was born on Feb. 19, 1947, in Gaston County. He was the son of the late B.D. Dalton and Genelle Williams Dalton. He was a devoted family man and loved his friends. He touched so many lives, his memory will carry on from generation to generation. He was an avid drag racing participant and fan. He was the owner and operator of Bob Dalton Racing, and he built many cars. He was a service technician with Diebold for more than 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley "Ann" Dalton of the home; two daughters, Michelle A. Haynes of Hope Mills and Samantha R. "Sam" Furr and husband Bobby "Buck" of Stedman; a son, Jason Paul Dalton and wife Melissa of Parkton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and twin great-granddaughters on the way; and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor Robert Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with rendering of full military honors.
