Death
Blackwell, John Dudley, Owner of Blackwell Mobile Home Movers and a resident of Central, He died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 71 and a native of Brookhaven, Miss. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting was held at Welch Funeral Home, 5p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Visiting at the Funeral Home Chapel, 8 a.m. until religious services at 11:00 Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Greg Heenan. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Lynn Landry, Central; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Susie Blackwell, Central; six sisters, Lucille Watson and Irene Jordan, both of Brookhaven, Christine Wall, Baton Rouge, Annie Ruth Fryer, Pride, and Willie Vee George and Francis Lorraine Adams, both of Baker; four brothers, James Clifton Blackwell, and Grady Ralph Blackwell, both of Brookhaven, Nalty Lynwood Blackwell, Baker, and Felix Eugene Blackwell, Prairieville; six grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Mae Zachary Blackwell; a son, Harry L. Ebert Jr. and a granddaughter, Tammy Marie Bergeron. Pallbearers will be Lynn L. Landry Jr., Aaron V. Duke Jr., Brandon K. Blackwell, Billy W. Ebert and Julius T. Kirkland.Endnotes
