Death

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jo Furr, 77, will be 10am Tuesday December 4, 2012 at the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home. Interment will follow at South Central Cemetery. Rev. Scott Fletcher and Rev. Jerry Hendrixson will be officiating the service. Mrs. Furr was born to the union of Joseph L. and Mary Fluitt Prickett on May 26, 1935 in Extension, Louisiana and passed from this life on Saturday evening December 1, 2012 at Charlyn Nursing Center after an extended illness. She was a resident of Extension, a homemaker and a member of South Central Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank Furr and her brother Ray Prickett. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Laura and Keith Ford; her granddaughter Sarah Ford, her sister Betty Milligan, her brother James Prickett; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tommy Herrington, Joey Milligan, Michael Milligan, Blake Prickett, Jay Prickett and Toby Villemarette. Friends may call for visitation on Monday after 5pm until 8pm. Memorials preferred to the Baptist Children’s Home.
