Death

Funeral services for Mr. J.D. Hilburn, age 69 of Lindale, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday in the chapel of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale with Rev. Gale Galloway officiating. Interment will follow in Lindale City Cemetery. Mr. Hilburn was born November 6, 1934 in Smith County to the late Thomas and Maurine McGahey Hilburn. He died Friday evening at his home. A lifetime resident of the Lindale area, Mr. Hilburn was a member of Central Baptist Church, retired from National Homes after 33 years of service and later owned and operated Hilburn's Auto. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Hilburn of Lindale; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Andrea Hilburn of Lindale and granddaughter, Katelyn Hilburn of Lindale. He is also survived by sisters Ruth Taylor, Dolly Boaz, Doris Wood and Verniece Pruitt, all of Lindale and by Rosie Isham of Tyler; brothers, Travis and Tommy Hilburn of Tyler and many nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Black, Jamie Cowart, Junior Albritton, Phillip Provan, Richard Furr, Dewey Longino, Glenn Scott, O.C. Albritton, Dan England and Richard England. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Baptist Church building fund.
