Death

SALISBURY - Audrey Lee Hethcock, 85, formerly of Kannapolis died Sunday June 17, 2012 at First Assembly assisted living center in Concord, following a period of declining health. Ms. Hethcock was born on April 30, 1926 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Fulton Leroy and Nell Furr Hethcock. Ms. Hethcock retired from Fieldcrest Cannon. She was a talented piano player, loved traveling and had a special fondness for children. She was a member of First Baptist Church Kannapolis where she loved singing in the church choir. She was also known for being a great seamstress. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Jane Davis Miller, and two nephews, Eddie Carroll Davis and Douglas Fulton Goodson. Ms Hethcock is survived by a sister, Dorothy Hethcock Goodson of Kannapolis; three nephews, Donald Franklin Goodson Jr. (Nancy) of China Grove, Robert Davis of Kannapolis, and Michael Davis of Asheville; three nieces, Melanie Keziah (Ricky) of Kannapolis, Debbie Ketchum (John) of Charlotte, and Sheila Brown Goodson of Mooresville and numerous great nieces and nephews. Service: A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Kannapolis with Rev. Tom Cabaniss officiating. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to service at the church. Whitley's funeral home is assisting the Hethcock family.
