MARSHVILLE Mrs. Delphia Faye Furr, 85, of Marshville, died Wednesday July 29, 2009, at Autumn Care in Marshville. Born December 9, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Lester Fulton and Ada Burgess Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Furr, and brothers, David, Roy, Boyd, Vaden and Horace Austin, sisters, Carrie and Ruby Austin. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Faye will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the graveside of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Morgan & Son Funeral Home. Mrs. Furr is survived by a son Lance Furr and wife Mary; brothers, R.V. Austin of Troy and Jack Austin of Marshville; sisters, Hazel Smith of Harrisburg, Carolyn Furr of New Salem and Melvia Love of Stanfield; grandchildren, Derek Furr and wife Caroline of Kingston, N.Y., Brian Furr and wife Cheryl of Monroe; great-grandchildren, Preston, Clayton, Samuel and Jacob Furr. The Morgan & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Furr.
