Death
LOCUST - Boyce Burdette Grey, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Midland, with the Rev. Mark Clontz and Neil Crowell officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Grey was born Dec. 21, 1920, the son of the late Dexter Judson Grey and the late Dora (Black) Grey. He had been employed at General Electric Carboloy Division in sales. He was a member of the Locust Lions Club, 260 Eastern Star and AM&FM Masonic Lodge 618, Midland. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Midland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Danny Grey; daughter, Lynn (Grey) Simpson; brother, Gerald Grey; and sister, Gladys Sullivan. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Gail (Love) Grey of Locust; daughter, Linda Furr (Grey) and husband, Larry, of Midland; sister, Elizabeth Barbee of Locust; grandchildren, Allen Furr, Scott Furr and wife, Malena, Craig Furr, Mitzi Sykes and Danille Tyree; and nine great-grandchildren.
