Death

Helen (Randock) Szarszewski, 92 of Niagara Falls, NY, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born October 30, 1916 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Wojtowicz) Randock, Sr. and attended local schools.She retired from Nabisco Shredded Wheat as a production worker after 28 years. Helen was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and loved spending summers at her cottage in Canada fishing, and also enjoyed baking, crocheting and spending time with her family.She is survived by her daughters, Bernice Smith of Burlington Ontario, Carol (Walter) Royer, Marcella (Darrell) VanGilder, Rose (James) Robinson, all of Niagara Falls, NY; brother, Joseph (Starlita) Randock Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Szarszewski on December 10, 1985; daughter, Patricia Cook; sisters, Catherine Chuchla, Josephine Davis, Mary Furr.Friends may call Thursday, January 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Zajac Funeral Home, Inc., 319-24th St., cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin Friday, January 9 at 9:00 AM and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM from Divine Mercy Parish 24th and Niagara St. with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery Lewiston, NY. Contributions in her memory may be made to charity of one’s choice.
