Funeral services for Walter Rinehart, Jr., 80, of Fort Gibson, OK, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Calvary Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Don Reed officiating. Pallbearers will be John Campbell, Dale Rinehart, Jr., Joshua Rinehart, Christopher James Furr, Bryce Allen Taylor, Dwayne Estep, Tim Everett and Buddy Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Scott Jones, Lincoln Rinehart, Joshua Moody, Kenneth Slusher, Robert Estep and Claude Sheppard Jr. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.Walter was born February 27, 1928 at Muskogee, OK, the son of Walter Rinehart Sr. and Bertha (Smith) Rinehart and died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Tulsa, OK. He attended and graduated from school in Muskogee and was a lifelong resident of the area. In 1946 he joined the Navy and served his country. On November 29, 1950 he married Wanda Estep Furr in Van Buren, AR. He was a business agent for the labor union in Muskogee for 23 years and then worked for twelve years in maintenance at Prestolite. Walter and Don “Tunnie” Cook were responsible for getting water for the rural water district East of Fort Gibson.Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; children, James Donald Furr of Fort Gibson, Pamela Gail Campbell and Denny of Fort Gibson, Dale Clifton Rinehart and Robin of Wagoner, Mary Katherine Moody and Larry of Fort Gibson, special adopted daughter, Misty White of Florida; sister, Mary Louise Slusher and Kenneth of Tulsa; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Betty Jo Rinehart, Ethel Kelly, Ruth Willis, Nina Mae Ballew and Waunita Ridenour.In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials in memory of Walter to “Make A Wish Foundation”.Published in the Muskogee Phoenix from 11/19/2008 - 11/21/2008
