Mildred Bullock Poplin, 87, of Weddington Park, Matthews, formerly of U.S. 52, Albemarle, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Prospect Baptist Church, Albemarle, where she was a member. The Rev. Don Burleyson, Rev. Tab Whitley and Rev. Stoney Benfield will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at Prospect Baptist Church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m., one hour prior to the hour of service.Born May 13, 1920, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Barnes and Sarah Furr Bullock, and was a retired employee of Wiscassett Hosiery Mill.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hugh Morris, and second husband, Dewey Poplin. A son, Jerry Morris, preceded her in death in 1995.She is survived by a son, Ronnie J. Morris of Matthews; stepson, Darrell Poplin of Norwood; stepdaughter, Shelia Thompson of Albemarle; four brothers, Robert Bullock, Lynn Bullock and Ned Bullock, all of Albemarle, and Joel Bullock of Huntersville; two sisters, Rachel Kizer of Winston-Salem and Ellen Mason of Concord; four grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.Stanly Funeral Home is in charge.
