Death
LOCUST — Mrs. Gladys Furr VonCannon, 83, of 1105 W. Main St., Locust, died Friday, January 31, 1997, at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 1997, in Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland, with the Rev. Leslie Lyndon officiating. Burial will be in Locust Methodist Church Cemetery, Locust. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the funeral home. Born in Cabarrus County, on July 12, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Philas Wilson and Tonnetti Hartsell Furr. Mrs. VonCannon was a member of Locust Methodist Church, Locust, and a textile retiree from Locke Mill, Concord. Survivors include three sons, Jack Green and Bobby Green, both of Monroe, and Melvin Green of Locust; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Morgan and Mrs. Alma Little of Stanfield; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
