Death

Kathy S. Furr, 53, of Pittsburg died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, in Pittsburg. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel with Bro. Clint Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jason Milner, Jerry Milner, Chet Craig, Chris Craig, Clint Franks, Jimmy Mike, Justin McGee, Kendal Thompson, and Michael Worthey. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Furr, Billy Craig, Ashley Henley, Casey Landrum, Don Furr, Douglas Debusk, Chad Reynolds and Richard Parrish. Mrs. Furr was born on June 3, 1954, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Gene Smith and Vernita (Skiner) Fisher. She worked in health care industry as a private sitter. She was a Baptist. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Tonya Furr of Sugar Hill; three stepchildren, Michael and Jill Furr of Rockwall, Kerry and Tammy Furr of Terrell, and Michelle and Roland Mano of Rockwall; and three sisters, Linda Bridges of Cunningham, Anita Fisher and Pam Smith, both of Paris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Furr; a daughter, Stephanie Dawn Furr; a son, Michael Wayne Furr; her parents; two brothers, Travis Smith and Stanley Smith; and two sisters, Carron Herring and Patricia Buckley.
