Death

Floyd Frederick Barnhardt, Jr. 'Coot' Mr. Barnhardt, age 71, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born September 15, 1936 in Concord, NC. Floyd was a loving and devoted husband and father and he will be deeply missed. He served in the National Guard and Army Reserve. He was a member of VFW and Bryants Invaders Pool League. Floyd is the son of the late Floyd F. Barnhardt, Sr. and Carrie Furr Barnhardt. He is survived by a devoted and lovely wife, Carol; one son, Steve and his wife, Amanda; two daughters, Cindy Starke and her husband, David and Lisa Sparnell and her husband, Benny all of Charlotte, NC; also his grand children, April Sparnell and husband, Sidney, Adam Voorhees, Megan Muzerie, Nicholas Barnhardt, Brandi Miller; and a great-grandchild, Preston Rabon. Floyd is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Mullis and Leona Verble and husband, Gene of Concord, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. The family will greet friends during a visitation hour of 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a service to celebrate the life of Mr. Barnhardt beginning at 2:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park. Interment will be private. The family has entrusted the arrangements and care for Mr. Barnhardt to McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road Charlotte, NC 28212, 704-334-6421.
