Death

Trecia Barbee Smith Mrs. Smith, 91, of Charlotte, died Sunday, March 28, 2004 at NorthEast Medical Center. She was born on January 9, 1913, a daughter of the late Henry Theodore and Bedie Furr Barbee. She was a longtime member of Back Creek Presbyterian Church, ARP. Trecia is survived by her siblings, Jessie B. Barbee, Homer J.C. Barbee, Helen B. Mesimer, and H.T. Barbee, Jr., all of Concord, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Smith; one sister; and five brothers. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Back Creek Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Back Creek Presbyterian Church, 1821 Back Creek Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28213, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements by McEwen Funeral and Cremation Services, Derita Chapel.
