Death

CONCORD Mr. Johnson Decosta Hagler, 83, passed away at Avante' at Concord on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. A native of Union County, he was the son of John I. Hagler and Essie L. Hagler. Mr. Hagler was employed by Cannon Mills as a shop foreman, and worked at Plant 9 for 50 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alice Furr Hagler; a son, Darrell Hagler and his wife, Sandy; his grandchildren, Angie and Jennifer Hagler; a sister, Carrie Mae Tucker and her husband, Calvin; his brothers, Jerry Hagler and his wife, Louise; Ed Hagler and his wife, Janet, and Terry Hagler. He is preceded in death by another brother, Homer Hagler. A service to celebrate Johnson's life will be held at Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church today, May 27, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lynn Cash officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service.
