Death

Larry McCrory, 57, of Bristol, TN, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He was born in Mobile, AL, a son of the late Otis McCrory and Martha Ann Furr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served as a telegraph and typewriter operator in Vietnam, where he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was a former employee of Brock Service Company. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Miller of Louisiana. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Marie McCrory; two daughters, Mandy Feathers and her husband Keith Feathers of Bristol, TN, and Dody Hampton and her husband John Hampton of Flat Rock, NC; a son, Paul Miller and his wife, Susan Miller of Arizona; a sister, Pam Johnson of Mobile; eight grandchildren, Justin Feathers, Gabby Feathers, Gage Hampton, Kendal Hampton, Ireland Hampton, Kristin Miller, Karen Miller and Lawayne Miller; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 6 o'clock Sunday evening at the home of Mandy Feathers at 205 Blueridge Drive, Bristol, TN, with Larry Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Mrs. Feather's home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Salvation Army, 137 Edgemont Ave., Bristol, TN 37620. The family would like to express a special thanks to Doctors Brandon, Hope and Robinson and CCU nurse Sue Morgan for their special care and support.
